Last month at Refuge we studied through the eyes of King David WHO our refuge is and how mighty this fortress of grace, safety, mercy and protection is. This Monday, let us put ourselves under the refuge of the mighty God.. the One who saves, the One who loves, the One who is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow.
Are you feeling discouraged? Fearful? Anxious? Come and let the Spirit of God move in and through you as we pray for women, families and our community. Many of us need healing, there are stories in our church of women who are facing all kinds of physical ailments from cancer, auto-immune disorders and degenerative diseases. Many of us are struggling with pain and even the flu… let’s not forget the flu. Many women are in need of mental and emotional healing, sexual healing and of course… spiritual healing. Let’s pray for revival. Let’s pray for the Church to be the Church in times where we face cut backs from government services and changes to our health care system. Let’s pray for families, for the children who are growing up in such a time as this. Let’s pray for our men to be men, to take their place in their families and at the city gate. Let’s pray for those of us who are carrying the weight of unmet expectations, infertility, loneliness, loss and grief. Let’s leave our bitterness and unforgiveness at the cross. These are just a taste of all the things we face so let’s do what the Bible says and surrender them to Jesus and trust Him to carry our burdens instead of us. Let’s pray for each other that our faith may be increased. Let’s worship and praise Him because you have good reasons for needing these prayers but even better reasons to be ENCOURAGED, HOPEFUL AND FULL OF JOY.
Did you know that one of the reasons why God gave you a voice is because there is power in that voice? Simply by speaking out your prayers, aloud, telling Him your burdens, telling Him your worries, your fears and confessing your sin, there is power in that. He already knows. But when you speak it, there is much good that is done for your soul.
Let’s get it all out on the table and pray that God has His way.
Monday, November 9th at 7pm in the sanctuary.
