As we anticipate our annual women’s retreat, we are hoping, praying and preparing a weekend that will be just that… a retreat. A time set aside for you to get away for rest, refreshment and to meet with your God. I encourage you to join us in prayer as this is not just about a weekend away, but two days to readjust, realign and refocus our eyes on Jesus. Our theme this year is about the presence of God. The thought that He is always fully present with us is overwhelming and beyond our grasp at times. The more we can understand this, the more we are to join Him in His presence. Shall we?
The retreat will be held at Calvary Chapel Conference Center in Murrieta Hot Springs on January 15-17, 2010.
Our speaker this year is Maggie Taylor, you may remember meeting her at our Monday Night Live back in March ’09. Maggie is a down-to-earth woman who mixes humor and compassion into her message. She effectively uses the joy and impact of the Word to challenge other women to receive God’s grace and love to be transformed by the power and life of Christ. She and her husband Rich have been married for 38 years and have two grown children. They have pastored Foursquare churches in California and Nevada, have served as missionaries to Puerto Rico, Honduras, and Costa Rica, and currently pastor a church in Flagstaff, Arizona. Maggie was raised in an unchurched home and wasn’t saved until she was in college. In the early years of ministry she considered herself ill-prepared for the plans God was unfolding for her life and struggled with deep feelings of inadequacy and guilt. Even after their first two years as pastors she claims her only real talents were that she dearly loved her husband and kept her baby clean and happy. The turning point in her life came as she began to understand the freedom God intended for her through a knowledge of His grace.
