On Monday night, we had a great time at Refuge studying the Scriptures for a greater understanding of the power of words. As we approach the end of the quarterly theme, “The Timeless Reign of God,” we approach our study with this question:
How does God reign in the world today?
How does God bring His Kingdom to the earth as we know it? Monday’s study revealed to us how God intends to advance His Kingdom and reign through God’s people and that our words and language play a huge part in that.
Our words have power.
How we speak to people – those we love, those we are just merely acquainted with and even those who God just divinely puts in our path momentarily– has an effect not only on people personally but on how they may view God through us as image bearers of the living God.
When do you struggle most with your words?
“An aptly spoken word is like apples of gold in settings of silver.
Like an earring of gold or an ornament of fine gold
is a wise man’s rebuke to a listening ear.” ~ Proverbs 25;11-12
