Living Without

Clean Water

“I think it is important to be thankful because there is so much we could be living without and we shouldn’t take what we have for granted.” -Joy Steed’s 19 year old daughter

What a great concept. To change the idea of thanking God for what we have I thought about it from the point of view “What if I lived without…”

  1. Sight
  2. Music
  3. Clean water
  4. Taste buds
  5. Education
  6. Shelter
  7. Companionship
  8. The sound of laughter
  9. Available and readable Word of God
  10. Breath
  11. Grace
  12. Hope

If I chose to actively remember I could be living without, how might my life be different? If I chose to take time to think of life without clean water would I not be more willing to give money to those who are indeed living without? What would a life without laughter be like? I think I might engage in it more myself and possibly tickle my children more and listen to the endless ridiculous knock-knock “jokes” of five-year olds. If I remembered some live without companionship might I actively pursue those relationships and relish time with friends and family deeper?

I think I might. In fact, I think I will.
