Did you enjoy our Contributor Question last month? We sure did. To participate in this month’s give-away please leave a comment telling us what YOU would do if left alone in a clean house for three hours. One randomly-chosen reader will win a copy of Jaimie Bowman‘s new book Breathe: 31 Moments with God for Moms. Winner will be chosen May 31st at 8:00pm.
I’ve gone a little nuts in the kitchen, so I’d probably spend half the time fermenting cabbage, kefir grains, and ginger or googling what other random food I could make from scratch. The other half of the time might be spent writing or catching up on emails.
Joy: So the family is gone for the evening and I am left at home. You would find me in a room with all the furniture pulled this way and that, pictures off the walls and maybe even a new paint colour about ready to go on the wall. I would be redecorating, moving furniture and art and making a fresh new room for the family to come back into …. oh and leaving the light on so they don’t stub any toes (’cause that has happened).
Lisa: I would purge my closet. I love keeping it tidy and organized and it feels as if I have shopped when actually I’m just revisiting things I already have. This keeps me from spending money that I don’t need to spend.
Michelle: Putting on my zombie-like face masks and doing a funky dance.
Okay so first of all, it’s rare for the rest of my family to be out during the evening and I’m left. at home. alone. If an event is occurring, I’d be in the middle of it – or be babysitting – but at home alone?! However, if there ever was such a rare occasion, I might write blog posts, sort through things from the closet
, read my Bible, or read what I’ve been reading lately
Suzie: Why… Reading blogs and exploring Pinterest! What else??? If it were in the morning, I would be far more productive… Like I would spend time in the word… Write… And read whatever book I’m reading. My mind is mush by evening.
If I had 3 hours in a clean house, I would (after checking my list to make sure I didn’t miss a must-do for the day) read my current historical fiction novel of choice. And when that got boring (if ever) I might read a Real Simple or take a nap. All little slices of heaven to me!!
Now what about you?
