Congratulations on last month’s winner, Christine Myers, who shared with us her outgrown fear! Thank you to all who participated in the building of our community.
The question this month: What is your favorite vacation destination? We answer the question and if YOU answer the question you have a chance to win a prize! This month you have the opportunity to not win one prize, but THREE! Should you choose to share with us YOUR favorite vacation destination, you enter the chance to win a small zipper bag for yourself, one for a friend, and one for someone you don’t know very well. You may comment below or to Facebook’s link. A winner will be chosen at random on Monday, August 4th at 6:30am.
Janna: I am easy to please (don’t tell my husband I just said that) but to me vacations are a break from the everyday, so my favorite vacation spots include, but are not limited to: Taco Bell, anywhere there is free WiFi for writing and a playground for children, I Love Lucy, the couch, a date night with the husband, and a clothing store with the husband’s blessing.
Joy, the Canadian: Favourite vacation destination is Malaysia – a beautiful Island there with white sand, turquoise water, lovely simple food and beautiful people. I actually had a hard time with that question as I thought of my Muskoka chair (which is Canadian for Adirondack) and the dock at my in-laws cottage on a beautiful Lake in Ontario… which is a pretty close second.
Lisa: I have to be honest and say that my favorite vacation destination is…. Las Vegas. Mark and I have been going there for over 22 years. We have a favorite hotel we stay at and a favorite restaurants as well. Mark, the girls and I love to sit by the pool in the warm weather, drink ice-teas and people watch. In fact, we even have favorite waiters at the restaurant. We see them every year and love talking to them. Their names are Rick and Paul. We will be going this summer and I can hardly wait. (and of course the girls and I shop a little.
Michelle: My favorite vacation destination is unknown. Before I travelled to Cuba, I thought it would be Cuba. Same thing for Ireland. Maybe Paris would be different. I don’t know, I haven’t been there. I’m looking for that one destination that will take my breath away, that will be absolute magic.
Paula: I have driven (more like ridden) across the country to both Maine and Florida. I’ve visited Yellowstone, Zion, Bryce, Yosemite, Grand Canyon, Mount Rushmore, the Smoky Mountains, the Painted Dessert. I’ve experienced the Atlantic, Pacific, and Gulf coasts. I’ve seen the Liberty Bell, the US Capital, the White House, Abraham Lincoln’s home and library, the Washington Monument, Mount Vernon, Dealey Plaza, and more state capitals, president’s homes, and museums than I care to mention. However, though I’ve been on many adventures over the years (and would love to partake in many more), my favorite vacation destination is anywhere with my family! Oh and by the way, my mom is the best travel agent around (though I might be a little bias)! 🙂
Suzie: My favorite vacation spot is Carlsbad 🙂 Close by, but far enough away. A lot of good eats, a great beach and plenty of inspiration.
Victory: I’m headed to Maui in July to celebrate my hubby’s 40th birthday, and while I will relish every moment on the beach with a book in my hand, I still can’t claim that this is my favorite spot. I have to say that my favorite week of the whole year, and that of each of our family members, is the week we spend in Yosemite. There is something about putting city (suburb) kids into nature. The air, the sounds, the dirt, the wildlife. I love how tired we are at the end of each full day. I love family bike rides, days at the river, and creating memories and traditions. Not to mention, the beauty that surrounds us causes us to pause and consider our amazingly generous Creator.
So how about you? What’s YOUR favorite vacation destination?
